Erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation, with a sexologist in Brașov
Specialist sexologist. Anxiety-related erectile dysfunction, meaning an erection that gives way exactly when it matters, and premature ejaculation respond well to work with a sexologist, when the cause is not in the body. First we sort out what belongs to the body and goes to the urologist. Then we work on what belongs to fear, to the nervous system and to the relationship.

The first question clarifies a lot: does it happen in every situation, or only with your partner? If the erection is there in the morning, when you wake up, or when you are alone, your body has shown that it can. What stops it is the situation, most often fear. If the change came suddenly, if the erection no longer comes at all, or if it all started after a new treatment, see a urologist or your GP first.
The fear of not performing puts the body on alert, and on alert arousal has no way to settle in. One bad evening becomes the question “will it happen again?”, the question presses the brake, and the next time it happens again. It is a circle, not a defect.
I am a psychologist and a sexologist, not a doctor: I do not prescribe medication and I do not treat the organic causes of impotence. I work alongside the urologist, not instead of them. Everything about the practice, the fee and booking is on the sexology page.

I am Alina Robu — specialist sexologist, specialist clinical psychologist and specialist integrative psychotherapist, with more than 20 years of clinical practice. I am a doctoral candidate in psychology and neuroscience and co-founder of the BrainMap Institute.
I practise sexology as a psychologist. What belongs to a doctor goes to the doctor first, and if a urologist is needed alongside me, I tell you at the first consultation.

How I work on erection and premature ejaculation
Medical causes first
What belongs to the body is checked by a urologist before any psychological interpretation. Nothing is assumed.
Fear, not willpower
Trying harder does not help: the effort keeps the brake pressed. We work on the thoughts that set off the alarm and on the body, which learns to come down from it.
Confidentiality, no exceptions
Nothing is discussed with your partner without your consent. If the person beside you comes too, we agree from the start what may be said.
Four steps, in this order
The first session
An hour of conversation, with no examination. What is happening, since when, in which situations, and what should be checked by a doctor.
Understanding the mechanism
What fear does in the body and why you are not “broken”. That alone takes away part of it.
Thoughts and body
The automatic phrases that set off the alarm, and techniques for regulating the nervous system. Hypnotherapy, when it makes sense.
With your partner, if they want to
Structured exercises, in steps, done at home. I explain them to you in words; I do not demonstrate them.
Which doctor treats impotence: urologist or sexologist?
| See a urologist first when | See a sexologist when |
|---|---|
| The change came suddenly | The erection is there in the morning or alone, but not with your partner |
| The erection no longer comes in any situation | The fear starts before you get close |
| It started after a new treatment | You have started avoiding closeness |
| You are over 40 and have not had a check-up | The urologist said everything is fine and the problem has stayed |
Sometimes it is both: a real medical cause also brings fear, and the fear can stay even after the cause has been treated.
The table scrolls sideways.
What men come to a sexologist with
Sexologist online, for men
For many men it is actually easier to start online, especially for the first meetings.
How it works
On video, 60 minutes, at the same fee as at the practice. We agree on the platform, Zoom or WhatsApp, the day before.
What you need
A place where you are alone and nobody can hear you, and a stable connection.
The medical limit
Online does not shorten the way to the urologist. If something needs checking, you find out at the first session.
It is a circle, not a defect.
